For the base PlayStation 5, the studio focused on three technical areas: PS5 SSD: The console’s solid-state drive enables continuous data streaming, facilitating fast travel and high-speed movements (such as horseback riding or gliding) without loading screens. Geometry Shader Oversubscription and NGG Culling: Pearl Abyss optimized Crimson Desert for the PS5 using these rendering techniques to maintain sharp details, even at the game’s massive scale, presenting a high number of graphical elements without exhausting console resources.
