Microsoft is revitalizing the Xbox achievements system with a new update that introduces fresh icons and animations for achievement notifications, which will now match your personalized custom color scheme. By the end of this month, Xbox Insiders will be able to hide games from their achievement history. Additionally, the achievement list will highlight games completed to 100% Gamerscore, making them easy to identify. New filter options will also simplify finding both fully completed and hidden games. Currently in testing with the Xbox Insider Program, the update answers long-standing community requests, including the ability to hide specific game achievements. The initial improvements focus on visual presentation, with redesigned achievement unlock notifications and clearer distinctions between common and rare achievements. Highlighting games with 100% Gamerscore could serve as an Xbox alternative to PlayStation’s Platinum Trophies. Microsoft is implementing these changes to give users more control over their achievement list’s appearance. Hiding a game will not affect the user’s overall Gamerscore or in-game activity reporting. Microsoft also recently added an option to selectively exclude games from the Quick Resume feature, another highly requested addition.
