Capcom has released the original versions of Resident Evil, Resident Evil 2, Resident Evil 3: Nemesis, and the JRPG Breath of Fire IV on Steam. These titles, previously available on GOG, are now accessible to a wider audience. To commemorate the Resident Evil series’ 30th anniversary, Capcom is offering a 50% discount on all four titles until April 15 at 10:00 a.m. PT. This reduces the price of each game from $9.99 to $4.99. The Steam versions preserve the original gaming experience while adding enhancements for modern systems. These include improved rendering options, controller support, a wider range of graphical settings, and more localization options. Resident Evil 3: Nemesis on Steam includes the Mercenaries Mode and features more graphic violence than the original PlayStation release. Resident Evil 2 contains both U.S. and Japanese versions, with the 4th Survivor and Tofu modes unlocked. Breath of Fire IV features restored environmental audio and fixes for previous battle system crashes, improving the narratives of Ryu and Emperor Foulu.
