Aether Iron, Seismic Squirrel’s story-driven RPG, is now available on PC via Steam. The game, originally slated for release on March 31, 2026, is priced at $24.99, €24.50, or £20.99, with a 20% launch discount. Set in an alternate 1930s New York, transformed into a vertical city by the discovery of eTer-powered anti-gravitational technology, Aether Iron casts players as Gia, a smuggler navigating crime syndicates, political conspiracies, and fragile alliances. Players will recruit a unique team of companions, making choices that determine whether the city finds hope or succumbs to corruption. Tyler Whitney, Narrative Director at Seismic Squirrel, stated that the team has dedicated years to developing the world, characters, and choice-driven gameplay of Aether Iron. Gameplay combines character interpretation, narrative progression, and turn-based vehicular combat. Players customize eTer-powered vehicles and recruit diverse companions, whose unique skills and personal stories influence both confrontations and the narrative’s direction. As a seemingly simple smuggling job escalates into a city-wide conspiracy, players will develop cunning, intelligence, and bravery—skills that shape combat effectiveness, dialogue options, and high-stakes decisions, ultimately determining the fate of New York’s citizens.

Industry veterans who contributed to Mass Effect, Far Cry, and Sovereign Syndicate worked on the game’s writing.
