Tomb Raider Production Pauses for Sophie Turner’s Recovery from Set Injury

Production of Prime Video’s Tomb Raider series is temporarily suspended due to a minor injury sustained by lead actress Sophie Turner during filming. An Amazon MGM Studios representative confirmed that the studio paused production as a precaution, to allow Turner time to recover, and intends to resume as soon as possible. Filming for the live-action adaptation of the popular video game series began on January 15. The representative confirmed that Turner’s injury occurred on Monday, approximately 18 hours before the news was released. Amazon MGM Studios did not disclose further details regarding the injury. Turner has, in the past, mentioned experiencing back problems related to her training for the role. Phoebe Waller-Bridge, known for writing Fleabag, is writing the show’s script. Because Amazon has not yet announced a release date or timeline for the series, the length of the production delay and its potential impact on the episode release remain unknown. Meanwhile, Lara Croft fans eagerly anticipate two new games currently in production: a remake of the first game and a new original title that continues the explorer’s adventures.
