Krafton’s PUBG: Blindspot will close down on March 30, 2026, at 5 a.m. EDT, less than two months after its Early Access release on Steam. Developed by PUBG Corporation’s ARC Team, PUBG: Blindspot launched on February 5 and attempted to offer a unique top-down tactical shooter experience with 5v5 combat. However, the game failed to attract a significant audience, with a peak daily player count of only 184. According to SteamDB, this divergence from the traditional battle royale formula of the series did not establish a sustainable player base. Sequoia Yang of the ARC Team announced the shutdown in a statement on the game’s Steam page. Yang explained that the team had exhausted all possibilities to improve the game and could no longer deliver their original vision. The statement expressed gratitude to players for their support, and PUBG Corp has confirmed that the ARC Team will take time to regroup before future projects. The closure of PUBG: Blindspot follows Krafton’s announcement that they intend to become an AI-first gaming company after investing 69 billion in AI technology. A judge recently ordered Krafton to rehire Ted Gill, the former head of the Subnautica 2 studio, after an improper dismissal in 2025.
