Disney+ in Portugal is set for a strong April 2026, with new sci-fi, dystopian drama, and comedy offerings. The month features the premiere of a new Star Wars series, the continuation of The Handmaid’s Tale storyline, and the return of the protagonist from Malcolm in the Middle. Several feature films and cinema classics will also be available on the platform starting April 1st. The new Star Wars series, Maul: Shadow Lord, will premiere on April 6, 2026, with a two-episode launch. Created by Dave Filoni with Matt Michnovetz as a key developer, the series will be released in a tight one-month window, concluding on May 4, 2026, with new episodes dropping every week until the finale.

A teaser released on January 26, 2026, revealed the cast and storyline for Maul: Shadow Lord. The voice cast includes Sam Witwer as Maul, Gideon Adlon as Devon Izara, Wagner Moura as Brander Lawson, and Richard Ayoade as TwoBoots, along with Dennis Haysbert, Chris Diamantopoulos, Charlie Bushnell, Vanessa Marshall, David W. Collins, A.J. LoCascio, and Steve Blum. The series follows Maul after the events of The Clone Wars, as he rebuilds a criminal organization on an untouched planet and searches for a young Padawan to aid him in his vengeance. Preorders for the new Television Commercial (TVC), Star Wars: Maul Shadow Lord, featuring 11th Brother and Marrok, go live on February 13, 2026. Two days after the Star Wars premiere, on April 8th, The Testaments will arrive, offering a new chapter in the world of The Handmaid’s Tale and following the lives of the teenage Agnes Mackenzie and Daisy. On April 10th, the nostalgic comedy Life’s Still Unfair premieres. The miniseries sees Malcolm drawn back into his dysfunctional family’s life when his parents, Hal and Lois, demand his presence at their 40th wedding anniversary party.
