Sony is expected to announce a significant price increase across its current PlayStation hardware lineup, including the PlayStation 5 Slim, the upcoming PlayStation 5 Pro, and the PlayStation Portal, according to a rumor from French content creator Gyo. Gyo claims Sony has warned retail sources of an imminent and drastic change to its hardware price structure. The rumored price increases in Europe are as follows: PlayStation 5 Slim (Disc Edition): Increasing from €549.99 to €649.99 PlayStation 5 Pro: Increasing from €799.99 to €899.99 PlayStation Portal: Increasing from €219.99 to €249.99 These prices reflect a potential €100 increase for both the PS5 Slim (with disc) and the PS5 Pro, and a €30 increase for the PlayStation Portal. Applying the same €100 increase, the Digital Edition of the PS5 Slim would increase to €599.99. The rumor does not specify whether these price increases will extend beyond Europe. Currently, the Xbox Series X, a main competitor of the PS5 Slim, is priced at €599.99.
