On Wednesday, October 25th, FIFA, the organization responsible for regulating world football, announced “FIFA Heroes,” the first game to carry the official FIFA seal since the end of their partnership with EA Sports in 2022. Unlike previous FIFA titles, “FIFA Heroes” will not be a direct simulation of professional leagues and clubs. Instead, its 5 vs 5 online matches on street soccer fields and arcade-style gameplay will be more akin to games like “Fortnite” and “Rematch,” reminiscent of the “FIFA Street” franchise, where juggling is as important as scoring. “FIFA Heroes” distinguishes itself by incorporating elements from popular online games. Its characters will include world-renowned football stars such as Harry Kane, Lautaro Martinez, and Eduardo Camavinga, alongside fictional characters like Thor and mascots. While only the mascots of Mexico, USA, and Canada (the three host countries for this year’s World Cup) have been confirmed, the promotional image features a character resembling Fuleco, the Brazilian World Cup mascot from 2014. Another new feature will be the use of superpowers during gameplay. Each character will have unique abilities, such as an unstoppable shot or the ability to temporarily halt opponents.

FIFA Heroes: Superpowered Soccer Coming to Multiple Platforms – Motorola Partnership Announced

Developed by Enver (known for “BMX,” “Formula X,” and “Motocross”), “FIFA Heroes” will be available on Nintendo Switch, PlayStation, Xbox, iOS, Android, and PC. The initial launch is scheduled for April 28, 2026, on iOS, Android, and PC. Motorola has partnered with FIFA to offer free in-game currency and playable characters for those who play “FIFA Heroes” on select Motorola devices. Some new Motorola devices will also come pre-loaded with the game. Versions for Nintendo Switch, PlayStation, and Xbox are also in development, and Enver has guaranteed that progress in the mobile version will carry over to console versions. A release window for console versions has not been announced. The developers have promised additional gameplay modes, features, and characters will be revealed later. A trailer showcasing the stadiums, players, and special abilities is available. The game is set in Brazilian barrios, where players can control characters with superpowers like teleporting balls, meteor shots, and magnetic tackles. Legendary players like Maradona will also be playable. Additionally, a FIFA x Netflix game is reportedly in development for a summer release, according to press releases about the game.
