Steam regularly offers promotions, but the current discount on Scorn is especially noteworthy. Until March 26th, Ebb Software’s disturbing horror game is available for $3.99, a 90% reduction from its usual price of $39.99. Released in late 2022, Scorn is a first-person horror adventure that emphasizes puzzle-solving and exploration, telling its story solely through its environments. The game’s atmosphere and art direction—heavily inspired by H.R. Giger (the creator of the Alien visuals) and Zdzisław Beksiński—are its main highlights. Players explore a biomechanical world constructed from flesh, bone, and rusted machinery, where even the weapons appear to be living organisms. Scorn received mixed reviews upon release. While its art and immersive qualities were widely praised, many players found its combat rigid, and its short playtime (around 5-6 hours) made them reluctant to pay full price. At less than $4, however, this game is an easy recommendation and an ideal opportunity to experience one of the most visually striking and original games of recent years.
