First Gameplay Reveal of Archetype’s Sci-Fi RPG Exodus – Jun’s Space Adventure

Archetype Entertainment, founded by BioWare veterans including Mass Effect series writer Drew Karpyshyn, has released the first look at gameplay for their upcoming science fiction action RPG, Exodus. Early gameplay footage features Jun, Tom, and Elise in action outside of Lyonesse. The video, under two minutes in length, is divided into three segments. It demonstrates the gameplay players can expect in Exodus and showcases Lyonesse’s graphics during exploration. The initial segment features Jun Aslan using a “railclaw,” or space grappling hook. Next, Jun explores the exterior of an orbital tower that links Lyonesse to the Cherag Harbor asteroid. Finally, the trailer concludes with Jun visiting an ancient Celestial shrine on the planet Khonsu. Exodus is currently in development for PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X. The game is scheduled to launch in early 2027, but a full gameplay reveal is expected this summer. The game will cast players as the Traveler, leading the fight against the Celestials across various planets, using a range of weapons and abilities in third-person shooter combat, in a style reminiscent of Mass Effect. The reveal is expected to provide a more in-depth look, following an earlier sneak peek initially planned for summer 2024.
