On Monday, March 16, the official Dune XTwitter profile released character posters for the film featuring Timothée Chalamet, Zendaya, Jason Momoa, and Robert Pattinson, describing the film as the story’s epic conclusion. The account also announced that the first trailer would debut on TikTok the following Wednesday, March 17. Following his adaptation of Frank Herbert’s novel Dune, director Denis Villeneuve will adapt the second book, Dune Messiah, for Dune: Part Three. The new film picks up 12 years after the previous installment. According to Omelete, Robert Pattinson will portray Scytale, appearing as Alia in a close-up scene in Dune: Part Three. Jason Momoa will also return for the third film. Herbert’s novel, Dune, depicts Paul Atreides as a symbol for the Fremen. Dune: Part Three portrays Chalamet’s character years after his victory over the Harkonnens. Now the emperor of the galaxy, Atreides grapples with the consequences of his ascent to power as assassination attempts plague him. Further complicating matters, his partner Chani, played by Zendaya, faces a dangerous pregnancy. Dune: Part 3 is scheduled to premiere in theaters on December 18, 2026.
