Death Stranding 2 Enhancements: New Difficulty Mode, Boss Battles, Cutscenes, & Ultra Wide Support

Hideo Kojima, Director of Kojima Productions, has revealed new features coming to the PC version of Death Stranding 2: Bridges, which will also be released as a free update for the PS5. Upon announcing the PC version, Kojima Productions stated that the game would offer players new gameplay enhancements, including new challenges, along with graphical improvements and conveniences like unlocked frame rates, ultrawidescreen support, frame generation, and DualSense controller support. Kojima detailed these features in an interview on the Japanese radio program Spacewalk. Death Stranding 2 will include: A new “To The Wilder” difficulty mode. Replayable boss battles (including battles with Neil). New live-action cutscenes (added from the original PS5 release). Creepy nightmare sequences. A Chiral cat in Sam’s room on the DHMV Magellan. Both the PC and PS5 versions will offer 21:9 ultrawide support and other adjustments to enhance gameplay based on player feedback. The PC version will also support uncapped framerates, ultrawide monitors, and 32:9 Super UltraWide resolution in 4K. Addressing complaints about the game’s low challenge level, the PC release and PS5 update will arrive on Thursday, March 19, 2026.
