Black Ops Royale Now Available in Call of Duty: Warzone

According to Activision, Black Ops Royale pits 25 four-player squads against each other in a battle royale on the Avalon map. Players infiltrate the area using wingsuits with minimal starting equipment, requiring them to explore the battlefield to gain advantages. Black Ops Royale, considered the successor to Blackout, takes place on an updated Avalon map from Call of Duty: Black Ops 7, adapted for both Black Ops Royale and traditional Battle Royale modes. Matches last approximately 20–25 minutes, with 100 players per game in Quads. Unlike other Warzone BR modes, Black Ops Royale eliminates loadouts. Players begin with only a pistol and wingsuit, forcing them to scavenge for gear. There are no Buy Stations, Gulag, or in-game currency. Players have two opportunities to redeploy: by finding a Redeploy Token or being revived by teammates at a Redeployment Tower.

Enhanced Weapon Builds and Zombie Invasions in Black Ops Royale

Weapons in Black Ops Royale feature five rarity levels: Common (Grey), Uncommon (Green), Rare (Blue), Epic (Purple), and Legendary (Orange). Higher rarity weapons include more pre-determined attachments that fit into predefined weapon configurations, or “Weapon Build Archetypes.” Finding an Attachment Kit as ground loot or in a Supply Box allows players to instantly increase a weapon’s rarity and add an attachment. To fully upgrade a weapon, players must collect enough Attachment Kits to unlock all five pre-determined attachments. The development team behind the original Blackout map also contributed to Avalon’s design. Black Ops Royale features optional in-game Activities that offer specific rewards, replacing loadouts, the Gulag, and Buy Stations. Cradle Breaches, for example, trigger Zombie invasions and opportunities for high-tier loot. The Redeploy Tower system replaces the Gulag, and players can utilize a perk system with consumable, temporary boosts. Progression in Black Ops Cold War, Zombies, and Warzone is connected with Black Ops Royale. A limited-time Counter Skies Event runs from March 17 to April 2, allowing players to earn progress towards specialized items within Black Ops Royale.
