Judao also released a manifesto about its return, highlighting the following points about the company representative: The company representative often livestreams using a virtual avatar (referred to as a “Bertuber plate”).
During official livestreams, Kim Jihoon often underlined or highlighted words in green, which became a meme due to its novelty in mobile game broadcasts. Jihoon’s livestreams differed from typical official broadcasts, and the blurry camera and reflections in the wallpaper background became fodder for memes. While not fluent in English or Japanese, Jihoon attempts to speak these languages during official broadcasts. Unique phrases from these broadcasts have become common in fan art for Shuna Jean. Fans have nicknamed the part of Jihoon where he frequently mentions negative sentiments like “I might fail” as “Menhera” (a reference to a feeling of being down or despondent). Jihoon himself adopted the term whenever he felt down. During the Limbus 3rd Anniversary broadcast, Jihoon brought a Shunajang avatar in a minefield uniform, which excited fans. The following day at a signing event, signs reading “No liquidation, no worries” were prevalent. TS Schuna Zhu and Temusan Schuna might be mistaken for Schnah Pan Art. The game industry broadcast is known for its unusual and emotional process, as well as low-quality webcam broadcasts, which became memes due to the director’s travels.
The company representative is not in charge of the company. In an official live stream on July 26, 2024, Jihoon mentioned that excessive communication outside the game (through the Bertuber character) could become annoying and distract from the game itself. In the Western world, some compare Jihoon’s livestreams to a streamer broadcasting from their garage (or basement). The green line is seen as associated with Schnajang. Jihoon acknowledged this meme by setting it as his Discord profile picture and selling a banner featuring the green line in the Season 5 Oblivion limited banner. Because Jihoon’s autograph was on the banner, users regarded it as a special edition. Following the GSTAR 2024 conference, he signed autographs for fans with a green highlighter, actively embracing the memes. The company representative’s livestreams involve underlining or writing words in green, creating the impression of a strangely sloppy yet pleasant PowerPoint presentation, which became a meme due to its uniqueness in mobile game live broadcasts. Judao has also provided background information about Kim Jihoon, CEO of Project Moon, developer of the mobile game Limbus Company:
Jihoon experienced physical and mental abuse from his mother as a child. He escaped into stories, which helped him understand people’s feelings and family dynamics. He was drawn to the otaku scene, particularly Neo Century Evangelion, and enjoyed online games like Counter-Strike and Half-Life on Steam. He regularly watched two or three movies per week and explored literature, reading books like Damian and Gentiles. In 8th grade, he began questioning his purpose in life. His interest in the gaming industry was sparked after playing Arcturus. As a freshman, he secluded himself for a month to participate in a national high school game contest. Initially aiming to become a game developer, he enrolled in Hongik University’s Computer Engineering department but dropped out after the first semester due to difficulties with math. In 2012, he transferred to Ajou University’s Media Studies department on a four-year scholarship. Each year in school, he assembled a game development team, but none of the projects came to fruition.
In December 2014, he gathered friends from a game club and started developing games. Lobotomy Corporation was initially conceived as a monster management simulation game with limited narrative content. Due to low sales, the company faced financial difficulties. In November 2017, they announced that continued production was unsustainable and shifted their focus to Library of Ruina, a deck-building simulation game. During the development of Library of Ruina, they launched a theme cafe called Ham Pang Pang. Development of Limbus Company, a character-collecting mobile game, began in August 2021, with its release on February 27, 2023.
The CEO of Project Moon is known for his hands-on management style, emphasizing close attention to detail and control during development. He appeared at the GSTAR 2024 conference to showcase Limbus Company. According to a post on The Limbus Company Minor Gallery, Jihoon is married. He favors characters who specialize in martial arts and swords, like Genji. Compared to an older photograph, his hairline has receded noticeably. He has a fondness for luxury pens, owning the Sir Arthur Conan Doyle Writers Edition Blue Special and Meisterstuck Le Petit Prince. A controversy has arisen regarding his compensation plan for players who registered but were unable to access the game. Players of Limbus Company may recognize a sad sewing doll, which appears as a recurring motif among the game’s main characters.
