Pokémon fans worldwide are preparing to celebrate the franchise’s 30th anniversary on February 27, 2026. The Pokémon Presents event will be broadcast on that Friday at 6:00 a.m. Pacific Time (PT) or 9:00 a.m. Eastern Time (ET). The broadcast is expected to run for approximately 25 minutes—a longer broadcast than usual. Celebrations will include both in-person and in-game events. Attendees at official Pokémon League locations will receive a special Mirror Holofoil Bulbasaur card from the Mega Evolution expansion, stamped with the Pokémon Day logo and the Play Pokémon logo. The Pokémon Company International is providing Pokémon Leagues with prizes for these events, including the Mega Evolution TCG Series, the Pokémon Day 2026 TCG Collection, the Phantasmal Flames Elite Trainer Box, and the Mega Venusaur EX Premium Collection. Players can also anticipate events and bonus rewards in games such as Pokémon GO and Pokémon TCG Pocket.

30th Anniversary Pokémon Merchandise & Updates Revealed at Pokémon Presents 2026

Fans can also purchase 30th-anniversary merchandise, including Pokémon TCG accessories, wearables, insulated tumblers, and glassware, throughout the year on the official Pokémon Center website. Several new LEGO sets are also available, including the Eevee and Pikachu set (available for preorder) and the Kanto Starter trio, which will be released on Pokémon Day. These can be preordered directly from the official LEGO website. The Pokémon Company will reveal more during a special Pokémon Presents video event—the first one for the 30th anniversary—potentially including updates on upcoming games, spin-offs, mobile games, TCG content, and animated series. Starting at midnight Central European Time, fans can view a special video already released in Japan commemorating the anniversary. Pokémon Red and Blue were initially released in Japan on February 27, 1996, for the Game Boy. Despite its later release in other regions, the global celebration remains on February 27. The original 151 Pokémon remain popular, and the company will reveal further developments during the Pokémon Presents at 2:00 p.m. Central European Time that day.
