Team Ninja has announced that the first major DLC for Ninja Gaiden 4, titled The Two Masters, will be released on March 4, 2026. This narrative-focused expansion continues Yakumo and Ryu Hayabusa’s battle against demonic forces. The Two Masters DLC promises to increase the game’s difficulty with new story chapters (available after completing the main campaign), unprecedented weapons, and a survival mode designed for dedicated players. The new chapters feature more lethal enemies and bosses designed to challenge even series veterans. The DLC introduces two new weapons: Yakumo receives the Solitaire scythe, ideal for crowd control. Ryu Hayabusa gets the Jakotsumon serpent gauntlets, perfect for swift, close-quarters combat. Ryu will not wield the Solitaire scythe; instead, he receives the Serpent Gauntlets. The Two Masters DLC also features a new Abyssal Road challenge mode set in Purgatory. This extreme endurance test consists of 100 unique combat encounters, blending base game enemies with new DLC adversaries. This mode also introduces dynamic combat mechanics that alter arena conditions in real-time.

Ninja Gaiden 4: Unlocking The Two Masters’ Secrets and Abyssal Road Challenge

During the campaign, players can acquire Yakumo and Ryu’s new weapons. However, unlocking the Abyssal Road challenge mode and new Trials requires completing The Two Masters story campaign, regardless of the difficulty level chosen. The Two Masters DLC is included in the Ninja Gaiden 4: Deluxe Edition and the Deluxe Upgrade. Otherwise, it will be available as a separate purchase for $14.99 USD on March 4, 2026. This update also includes quality-of-life improvements, balance adjustments, and bug fixes, making Ninja Gaiden 4 even more challenging.
