As part of this shift, CEO and cofounder Yves Guillemot confirmed in a recent Variety interview that two new Far Cry titles and multiple projects within the Assassin’s Creed universe are in development. Regarding the Far Cry series, Guillemot highlighted two promising projects that have been rumored for over a year: Project Blackbird: Expected to be Far Cry 7, this installment takes a narrative risk by presenting a story with extreme urgency: The protagonist’s family is kidnapped, and players have a 72-hour in-game limit (approximately 24 hours in real-time) to complete the rescue mission. Project Maverick: This project is a standalone multiplayer extraction shooter set in Alaska, incorporating survival mechanics such as permadeath, high-risk contracts, and loot management.

For Assassin’s Creed, Guillemot confirmed multiple titles are in production, encompassing both single-player and multiplayer experiences, with the aim of retaining and expanding a community that surpassed 30 million active players last year. Ubisoft anticipates releases such as Assassin’s Creed Hexe, which promises a darker tone and a witch-themed adventure, and the highly anticipated remake of Assassin’s Creed 4: Black Flag.
