With new games emerging from Chinese studios every week, Genigods Lab has announced its action RPG, Genigods Nezha, which draws on Chinese mythology and boss battles. Players will explore a world rooted in Chinese folklore as Nezha, the first being created by Nuwa. With Pangu, the God of Genesis, asleep, the world has fallen into chaos, and Nezha is tasked with restoring balance by repairing the heavens and sealing rifts, while also uncovering the secrets of his origins. Fortunately, Nezha can harness the power of the Heart of Spirit Pearl to overcome enemies. The game is slated for release in 2028. Genigods Nezha emphasizes fast-paced combat, both on the ground and in the air, taking inspiration from Bruce Lee’s philosophy, “Be like water.” Players will combine traditional combos with aerial maneuvers and parries, the latter being crucial for charging a gauge that can turn the tide of battle. Though reminiscent of Stellar Blade visually, Nezha’s combat possesses its own distinct style, characterized by fluidity, airiness, and an emphasis on timing and evasion. Developed for PC and PS5 using Unreal Engine 5, Genigods Nezha promises a fresh take on action RPG combat inspired by Chinese mythology.
