Three FATECs Confirm Participation in Global Game Jam 2026

Three FATECs—Carapicuiba, Sao Caetano do Sul, and Baixada Santista (Rubens Lara)—will participate in the Global Game Jam 2026 (GGJ26). As the event enters its 16th edition, FATEC Baixada Santista and FATEC Carapicuiba will once again partner with FATEC Sao Caetano do Sul for the online jam. This collaborative integration makes it the world’s largest. The event welcomes participants of all levels—beginners, students, and professionals—who enjoy developing games, digital or otherwise. Global Game Jam offers an opportunity to have fun with friends, make new connections, and develop games in the world’s largest non-competitive game jam. Previous participants from FATEC Sao Caetano do Sul are encouraged to return, and newcomers are especially welcome to join the community. Organizers will use Discord to facilitate communication with participants and among online teams. The Discord server link will be sent to registered participants via email a few days before GGJ 2026 begins on January 30th. The event may also have an in-person component, with details to be confirmed.

In a separate event, Zempie, known for its all-in-one publishing platform, will host the Global Game Jam 2026 in Pangyo, South Korea, at the Twosun World Building near Pangyo Station. This marks Zempie’s first time hosting the event, which runs from Friday, January 30, to Sunday, February 1. FATEC Baixada Santista and FATEC Carapicuiba will not participate in the Pangyo event this year. Applications are now open for the Global Game Jam 2026 at Zempie Pangyo. Participation in the FATEC-organized GGJ 2026 begins on January 30th, and registered participants will receive further information that month. The schedule, subject to change, is as follows: January 30, 20:00: Opening livestream and theme presentation on the FATEC Sao Caetano do Sul YouTube channel, in collaboration with Fatecs Baixada Santista and Carapicuiba. January 31, 14:00: Project creation on the Global Game Jam worldwide website. February 1, 15:00: Game upload begins on the Global Game Jam worldwide website. February 1, 17:00: Closing livestream and project presentation on the FATEC Sao Caetano do Sul YouTube channel, in collaboration with Fatecs Baixada Santista and Carapicuiba.
