As the Pokémon franchise approaches its 30th anniversary in 2026, fans anticipate announcements from GameFreak and Nintendo, potentially during the next Pokémon Presents showcase. Expectations include updates for existing games, classic titles joining Nintendo Switch Online, and details about Generation 10. Pokémon Scarlet and Violet are already celebrating with weekly 7-star raids featuring powerful versions of classic Pokémon.

Trainers, from now until January 23, 2026, a particularly strong Charizard returns to Pokémon Scarlet and Violet in the 7-star Tera Raids. This level 100, Dragon-type Charizard wields moves such as Draco Meteor, Explosion, Hurricane, Earthquake, Flare Blitz, Dragon Ascent, Sky Uppercut, and Inferno. It also has the Mightiest Mark. This Charizard can only be caught once per save file.

To battle the Fire/Dragon-type Charizard in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet, players need an active Nintendo Switch Online subscription to join with friends or other players in these raids. Although this Charizard can only be caught once, it can be battled multiple times. To encounter Charizard, players must update their Poké Portal Acts and complete the main quest in either Scarlet or Violet. Only then will the raid appear in the game.
