EA SPORTS FC TOTY 2025 Honors Global Football Excellence with PSG, Chelsea, Real Madrid Representatives

EA Sports has revealed the FC 26 Team of the Year (TOTY), showcasing upgraded versions of top footballers in Ultimate Team 26. Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) boasts the most players selected for the squad, including Portuguese players Nuno Mendes and Vitinha, along with Ousmane Dembele. Chelsea and England defender Lucy Bronze, and Real Madrid and France forward Kylian Mbappe, have been named the first EA SPORTS FC TOTY Captains, recognized for their outstanding contributions to global football in 2025. “The Team of the Year is both a celebration of football excellence and fan passion,” said Jeff Sharma, Vice President of Franchise Strategy and Marketing at EA SPORTS FC. “This year’s Men’s and Women’s TOTY Captains honor the players fans adore to see every week: those who change games, carry teams, and define eras. By putting the voting in fans’ hands, Team of the Year sits at the intersection of football and fandom, and that’s where EA SPORTS FC thrives.”

Lucy Bronze stated, “Being named the first-ever Captain of the Women’s EA SPORTS FC TOTY is an honor. Receiving this fan vote means a lot to me. 2025 was an incredible year—winning the EURO again and securing my first BWSL title with Chelsea—much of that success is due to our fans, and it’s great to see them recognizing my efforts with this award.” Liverpool captain and defender Virgil van Dijk, who has been selected for the seventh time, said, “I am incredibly proud to be named for the EA SPORTS FC Team of the Year. Being chosen by fans always means a lot, and I want to thank them for their support.” The FC 26 Team of the Year will also feature TOTY Honorable Mentions and free upgrades for Heroes. In addition, Classic XI Heroes will receive enhancements during the TOTY event. Players can anticipate the release of various TOTY items, such as TOTY Icons, the Captain of the Year (for both men and women), and TOTY Honorable Mentions players.

EA SPORTS FC 26 TOTY Honorable Mentions & Icons Announced with Special Upgrades and Voting for The 12th Player

EA Sports has also confirmed the return of TOTY Honorable Mentions, recognizing elite players from 2025 who narrowly missed making the final XI. TOTY Icons, in-game special items commemorating the distinguished careers of football legends, will also be available. Players who log into EA SPORTS FC 26 Ultimate Team between December 12 and January 12 will receive a special upgrade to their Classic XI Hero, which will transform into a TOTY Honorable Mention Hero. Voting for the 12th Player (Male and Female) opens on January 17 at 6:00 PM (Lisbon Time) and closes on January 20 at 5:59 PM (Lisbon Time). Fans can vote via console, PC, or the Companion App to highlight another significant player from 2025. Attackers from the TOTY selection will appear in Ultimate Team FC 26 packs between January 16–18, midfielders between January 18–20, and defenders and goalkeepers between January 20–22.
