Celebrating 25 Years of The Lord of the Rings Trilogy – Limited Theater Screenings & Special Merchandise Jan 2026

To celebrate the 25th anniversary of The Fellowship of the Ring, Warner Bros. and Fathom Entertainment will bring the extended versions of The Lord of the Rings trilogy to select theaters. Screenings will be hosted over two weekends in January 2026, from the 16th to 18th and the 23rd to 25th, with each film shown in its original order: The Fellowship of the Ring, The Two Towers, and The Return of the King. Select locations will feature DBOX technology, providing an immersive experience through special sound and motion. Director Peter Jackson has also recorded brief introductions for each film, sharing his memories of directing the series. Adding to the anniversary celebration, Empire magazine will release a special Lord of the Rings trilogy issue in March 2026, available on newsstands beginning January 15. In addition to the screenings and magazine release, several theaters will offer exclusive commemorative merchandise, including: Regal: One Ring popcorn tin and tumbler AMC: Popcorn tin featuring a map of Middle-earth Marcus Theatres and BB Theatres: One Ring bucket tin EPIC Theatres: LOTR Expanded Edition Rerelease One Ring popcorn tin The popcorn buckets cost between \$15 and \$20.
