Shift Up has continued its tradition of generous employee bonuses, providing its nearly 300 employees with both high-end gifts and cash payouts. The company’s latest bonus included Apple AirPods Max, an Apple Watch, and approximately $3,400 in cash for each employee. This follows a pattern of significant bonuses; The Backdash reported that in 2024, employees received prepaid cards worth approximately $6,800 each, along with iPhone 14s and other bonuses in 2023. According to the Seoul Economic Daily, team members received a PlayStation 5 in January 2025, followed by a Nintendo Switch 2 in June. These ongoing rewards highlight Shift Up’s commitment to maintaining a motivated workforce, especially as the studio undertakes several large-scale projects. In addition to developing Stellar Blade, Shift Up is currently working on Project Spirits, a multiplatform title in partnership with Tencent’s Level Infinite branch for publishing and joint development. The studio has also suggested expanding Stellar Blade to other platforms, despite the game being initially designed for multiplatform release.
