Celebrating Over 12 Million Copies Sold: The Epic Journey of Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot

Bandai Namco is celebrating the ongoing success of Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot, the action RPG developed by CyberConnect2. Initially launched on January 16, 2020, for PS4, Xbox One, and PC, the game later expanded to Nintendo Switch, PS5, and Xbox Series X/S, broadening its player base. In celebration of surpassing 10 million units sold in 2024, Bandai Namco released a special thank you video. Since then, Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot has sold an additional 2 million units, reaching over 12 million copies worldwide. In-game statistics highlight player engagement, including 7.8 billion Kamehamehas and 1.9 billion Spirit Bombs launched, Frieza defeated 7.2 million times, and players falling to Raditz over 2.2 million times. Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot was also released on Stadia on October 26, 2021, and for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S on January 13, 2023.

Downloadable Content Update: Introducing Super Saiyan 4 Daima Goku on January 15, 2026

Looking ahead, the second part of the downloadable content, DAIMA: Adventure Through the Demon Realm Part 2, will be released on January 15, 2026. This update will introduce Super Saiyan 4 Daima Goku as a playable character, featuring his battle with Gomah from the Daima anime series. While the game is titled Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot, it also incorporates content from other Dragon Ball series, including the original, Super, and Daima.
