Tencent Boosts Unrecord’s Development with Drama Studios – A Collaborative Venture Towards Extraordinary Games

Tencent will invest in the development of Unrecord, the first-person shooter from French studio Drama Studios that gained attention when its hyperrealistic trailer, shown from a police camera’s perspective, went viral in 2023, garnering tens of millions of views. According to Drama Studios, Unrecord officially entered full production after the initial success of the trailer, and the studio expanded its team with Tencent’s financial support. The goal is to accelerate development and enhance features. Drama Studios CEO stated that the experience of working with Tencent has been positive, highlighting both their financial support and their confidence in the team’s creative vision. Drama Studios executive director Theo Hiribarne added that Tencent approached the partnership with humility, respect, and a genuine appreciation for the studio’s creative identity, saying, “They believed in Unrecord from the start and supported us through all stages of growth.” Tencent’s vice president of partnerships, Mark Maslowicz, stated that Tencent sees great talent in the Drama Studios team and believes this investment will help the studio create extraordinary games.
