Free Games Await on Steam and Epic Games Store This Holiday

PC gamers can anticipate a series of deals as the most profitable time of year arrives. The Epic Games Store (EGS) has launched its holiday promotion, giving away free games over the next two weeks as part of its Advent Calendar. For example, until Thursday, Hogwarts Legacy is free on PC for all users. Valve is also participating, offering a new complimentary game on Steam to permanently add to your library. Several free titles are currently available on Steam: Moose Lost in the Woods: A family-friendly 3D platformer inviting players to explore a Swedish-inspired forest and collect goodies. Revolution Idle: An indie game developed by Oni Gaming and Nu Games, and published by Oni Gaming (Steam App Id: 2763740), where players increase accumulators to reach new heights. Revolution Idle has earned a Player Score of 84 on Steam, ranking it the #6 best free indie game. It is playable on Windows systems and, with some functionality caveats, on Steam Deck. This game is listed with an availability date of May 1, 2025.

While PC gaming may become increasingly expensive in the coming months, publishers are showcasing their titles for the holidays. Although free weekend trials are common, some are giving games away. Grabthegames, for instance, is offering One Gun Guy. This 3D platformer features 10 levels where you control Bo, navigating magical forests and temples. Players can dash through walls, move heavy rocks, double jump, and transform into a tiny ball. One Gun Guy delivers ultradirect, fast-paced, and demanding gameplay, where every action counts. In addition to the titles available through the Epic Games Store, Porcelain Tales is another free game on Steam. Even with only one chapter, Porcelain Tales offers a quick, enjoyable experience where players transform into a garden gnome tasked with helping a witch gather items, all while being mindful of their porcelain form. One Gun Guy is the latest in a series of free games on Steam. Claim this title before Thursday, December 18, 2025, at 7:00 PM, after which it will remain in your library indefinitely. Similarly, Black Desert Online, Pearl Abyss’s MMO, is available until Thursday, December 18, 2025, at 9:00 AM.
