After the release of the Resident Evil 4 remake in 2023, Capcom remained silent regarding new entries in the series. However, Resident Evil: Requiem is slated to release in February 2026, ending what will be the longest gap between Resident Evil titles since Resident Evil 7 in 2017. Despite this nearly three-year pause, the series is unlikely to remain dormant for an extended period again. According to Dusk Golem, an unofficial source who accurately predicted the inclusion of Leon in Requiem, Capcom plans to release more remakes in the coming years. Dusk Golem anticipates that the Resident Evil: Code Veronica remake will be announced in 2026 and released in 2027, followed by the Resident Evil: Zero remake in 2028. When questioned about upcoming Resident Evil news, Dusk Golem identified the Resident Evil: Code Veronica remake as the next major project following Requiem. These reports suggest Capcom aims for an annual Resident Evil release schedule, beginning with Requiem in 2026 and continuing with the Code Veronica and Zero remakes in 2027 and 2028, respectively.

Anticipated Quick Succession of Resident Evil Remakes Ahead of Resident Evil 10 Release

Considering Capcom’s previous pattern of rapidly releasing remakes—Resident Evil 2 in 2019 and Resident Evil 3 in 2020, prior to Village in 2021—the company could release two more remakes in quick succession before unveiling Resident Evil 10.
