Red Dead Redemption 2 Breaks Sales Records, Claims Fourth Place Among All-Time Best Sellers

According to Take-Two Interactive’s latest financial report, Red Dead Redemption 2 has sold over 79 million copies worldwide, making it the fourth-best-selling video game of all time. The entire Red Dead franchise has now sold over 106 million units globally, solidifying Rockstar Games’ dominance in the gaming industry. Red Dead Redemption 2 surpassed Mario Kart 8, which previously held fourth place with approximately 78 million units sold across the Wii U and Nintendo Switch. It still trails Wii Sports (82.9 million copies), Grand Theft Auto V (over 200 million), and Minecraft, which leads with over 350 million units sold. Furthermore, analysts report that Red Dead Redemption 2 has been the most financially successful title in the U.S. for the past seven years. The online version, Red Dead Online, is included with every copy, and a standalone version was released in 2020 to further engage players.
