Borderlands 4 Shatters Sales Records with $150M Global Earnings and 2.5 Million Units Sold

Since its release on September 12, Borderlands 4 has generated over $150 million globally from more than 2.5 million units sold, according to Alinea Analytics. On Steam, the game sold over 1.3 million copies, contributing more than $80 million to its total revenue. Console sales have surpassed the one million mark. Shortly after launch, the game reached a peak of over 300,000 concurrent players on Steam. The majority of players are based in the United States across both Steam and PlayStation platforms, followed by countries such as China, Germany, the UK, France, and Canada. A significant portion of Borderlands 4’s player base comprises series veterans. On Steam, 59% of its players had previously played Borderlands 2, 51% had played Borderlands 3, and 22% had played Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands. For PlayStation players, where PS Plus membership helped attract new users, 81% had played Borderlands 3, 64% had played The Handsome Collection, and 50% had played Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands.

Borderlands 4 PC Performance Issues Addressed by Updates and Refund Options for Dissatisfied Players

Despite its successful launch, the PC version of Borderlands 4 faced initial complaints regarding performance issues. Alinea Analytics anticipates that future updates will resolve these problems.
