FBI Investigation Initiated over Microsoft-Linked Pro-Palestinian Protests

Microsoft enlisted the FBI’s assistance following a year-long series of protests led by the “No Azure for Apartheid” group. Prior internal investigations, email deletions, and the dismissal of two employees who protested at company events had failed to curb the demonstrations. This escalation led to protests outside Microsoft offices, resulting in over 20 arrests by Redmond police responding to disturbance complaints, according to Bloomberg. Members of No Azure for Apartheid, which includes current and former Microsoft employees, contend that the company profits from civilian deaths by providing technology and software, particularly its Azure cloud service, to Israel’s military. In April 2025, two employees disrupted a company event, and their actions subsequently went viral on social media. Seeking to prevent similar incidents, Microsoft called on the FBI for help in identifying pro-Palestinian protests potentially targeting the company.
