Delayed Crimson Desert Launch Moves to Q1 2026 for Enhanced Global Release Preparations

Pearl Abyss has postponed the launch of Crimson Desert, its first major console game, from its previously planned late 2025 window to the first quarter of 2026. The company announced this during its second-quarter earnings presentation. The delay, approximately three months, stems from various factors. Pearl Abyss cited longer-than-expected timelines for scheduling and collaborations with partners, specifically regarding offline distribution, dubbing, console certification, and other pre-launch preparations. The company affirmed that this decision was strategic, aimed at ensuring a successful global release. Despite internally confirming Q1 2026 as the new launch window, Pearl Abyss stated that for commercial reasons, it will defer the official public announcement of this date, sharing the updated release window when it best suits the company and the market. Crimson Desert is confirmed for release on PC via Steam, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S. Currently, the game is undergoing dubbing processes and preparing for console certification. In terms of marketing, Pearl Abyss plans to showcase Crimson Desert’s open-world version at Gamescom and PAX West in August. Following these events, the company aims to attend the Tokyo Game Show in September to bolster its marketing efforts in Japan.
