Battlefield 6’s Secure Boot Bolsters Anti-Cheat Efforts, Blocking Over 370,000 Cheats in Two Days

Electronic Arts addressed cheating concerns in the Battlefield 6 beta. A member of the Spear Anti-cheat team explained the role of Secure Boot and highlighted the importance of community collaboration in combating unauthorized play. The team clarified that Secure Boot is not a complete solution but an essential tool that strengthens the game’s defenses. This system makes it more difficult for cheat creators and assists EA in detecting fraudulent activity. Secure Boot enables the team to trust specific indicators, such as blocking vulnerable drivers, and helps identify suspicious actions. The statement also confirmed key figures regarding the Javelin anti-cheat engine’s performance: it blocked over 330,000 cheating attempts on the beta’s first day alone, with more than 60,000 additional attempts blocked on the second day. Furthermore, players submitted approximately 44,000 reports on that initial day. The Game Integrity Team uses these player reports to enhance cheat detection, and the Battlefield Positive Play Team uses them to ban confirmed cheaters.

Electronic Arts expressed gratitude to Battlefield 6 players who reported cheats and shared videos during the beta. The company emphasized that every piece of information helps its teams uncover new cheat communities and develop more effective detection methods. Players are encouraged to continue reporting cheaters directly through their scoreboard profiles to help maintain game fairness, an initiative EA calls the “#AntiCheatWarriors.”
