Summer in Red Dead Online is shaping up to be wild, violent, and supernaturally intense! Rockstar is kicking off “Strange Tales from the West,” a brand new series of missions beginning July 1st. These telegram-delivered adventures promise a potent mix of mystery and danger for the multiplayer game – and yes, they come with triple rewards too. The mastermind behind all this is Theodore Levin, a fictional author and explorer with a keen interest in the uncanny. He’s been collecting stories and rumors from across the map. Your mission? To track down these unexplainable happenings, pen in hand and revolver holstered, of course. The Strange Tales will even feature encounters with zombies and robots. In “The Strange Tales of the Plague,” you’ll be battling the undead in Armadillo and collecting corpses for research. Then there’s “The Strange Tales of Modern Science,” which sends you to investigate a scientist’s artificial life experiments near Braithwaite Manor. As you delve into these spooky stories, beware of infection in Armadillo – a strange disease has afflicted the town. There’s also a group of disease enthusiasts lurking around, and they won’t take kindly to you interfering with their subjects. At Braithwaite Manor, the artificial creatures concocted by that scientist are far from friendly – they’re roaming the area, eliminating anyone foolish enough to cross their path.
Beyond that, a new wilderness mission awaits you in The Marshes of Lagras. A mysterious creature is lurking there, and you’ll need to capture it while dodging traps set by the locals – who’ve clearly spent a bit too much time in the swamp, if you ask me. Oh, and there’s also a mission in Tall Trees involving a missing scientist, whispers of experiments on assassins, and a location where merely staying alive is a miracle. Until August 4th, all these telegram missions, including the new Strange Tales, are dishing out triple Gold, RDO$, and XP. Plus, this month, the Featured Series are going extreme, with competitive modes each week offering double XP and RDO$. And hey, there are also whispers circulating that Red Dead Redemption II might be coming to next-gen consoles and Nintendo’s upcoming hardware. Keep an eye out for further updates on that front.
