The journey begins with the pre-expansion patch, which has already arrived on the servers, and continues when Mists of Pandaria Classic is released on July 21st. Here’s what the pre-expansion patch brings: – New playable race: With the launch of the Mists of Pandaria pre-patch, embark as a member of the enigmatic pandaren and join the ranks of either the Horde or the Alliance as you embark on the brewing conflict along the shores of Pandaria. You can play Pandaren characters through their Wandering Isle starting zone and beyond. – New hero class: Learn the mystical powers of the Monk – decimate enemies with the devastating strikes of the Windwalker, replenish allies with the spiritual energies of the Mistweaver, and withstand massive damage with the unyielding might of the Brewmaster. The Monk class is now available. – Serpent Sapient of Shaohao: Play through the pandaren’s initial experience and earn the enigmatic Airstrider Serpent Sapient of Shaohao in modern World of Warcraft. – Druid Tanks finally have their own specialization, separating them from Feral Druids. Battle pets can now be played. – Theramore’s Fall scenario is available. Currency conversions have been made: Valor Points have been converted to Justice Points, and Conquest Points have been converted to Honor Points.
Talent system overhaul has occurred: All classes have had their talent trees trimmed down. Many abilities have been removed or made baseline. All specs now share the same talent options. Prime glyphs have been removed. Spells are learned automatically, no need to visit class trainer unless wanting to respec. Equipment slot changes: The Relic slot and Ranged weapon slot have been removed. Relics are no longer usable. Ranged weapons now go in the Main Hand slot. AoE looting is possible, no need to loot every mob individually anymore!
