The Nintendo Switch 2 made a grand entrance on June 5, swiftly breaking records with an impressive 3.5 million units sold within the first four days. And the sales momentum continues, as revealed by official Nintendo documents leaked on ResetEra. In just three weeks, over 5 million units of the Nintendo Switch 2 have found their way into eager gamer’s hands! The US, Canada, and South America have snagged 1.8 million units. Japan, where we’ve got the only publicly known figure thanks to Famitsu, has bought 1.48 million units. Europe is in on the action with 1.2 million units sold. And other territories have snapped up half a million consoles. Since announcing its first major sales number for the Nintendo Switch 2, Nintendo’s been shifting a cool 1.5 million consoles per week, fueled by global demand. Interestingly, Nintendo prioritized its bigger markets over its home country (Japan) in terms of supply for the Switch 2 console. This strategy seems to be paying off, considering the initial demand for the Switch 2 exceeded expectations, as acknowledged by Nintendo president Shuntaro Furukawa. There were a few hiccups along the way, with some units showing signs of tampering and screen staples, presumably due to store employees stapling receipts to the boxes before shipping. Keep your eyes peeled for any updates on this issue!
