James Gunn, one of the creative leaders of DC’s new cinematic era, addressed speculation regarding Adria Arjona potentially playing Wonder Woman. He clarified that they have been friends since working together on ‘The Belko Experiment’ in 2016. Gal Gadot, who previously portrayed Wonder Woman, had her third film cancelled after James Gunn and Peter Safran took charge of DC. Gadot expressed feeling “empowered” by the cancellation, stating it allows her to pursue her own projects and act as an actress-for-hire. While Gunn acknowledges Arjona would be spectacular for the DC Studios’ Wonder Woman role, no actress has been chosen yet.
