Nintendo of Canada has announced to customers that it will increase prices for consoles, games, accessories, and online service in August. Currently, there are no details on the increases, but it has been informed that the original Nintendo Switch, Nintendo Switch Lite, and Nintendo Switch Oled consoles will become more expensive. The price of the Nintendo Switch 2 console will not increase. Physical and digital games, along with Amiibo and accessories, will also become more costly, but it hasn’t been specified if all accessories will become more expensive. The pricing update for Canada does not apply to the Switch 2 console or accessories. The online service will also become more expensive, but like consoles, games, and accessories, new prices for Canada have not been announced. Customers in Canada should note that these price changes will be announced on the Nintendo of Canada website on August 1. Recently, US President Donald Trump ended trade talks with Canada over the country’s digital services tax proposal, but this is no longer going forward as Canada has walked back its plans.
