Sonic Adventure Unlikely to Get Remasters or Remakes Soon

Sega has no plans to create remakes or remastered versions of Sonic Adventure games, preferring instead to focus on producing new games. The Sonic Adventure games are among the most cherished by fans of the blue hedgehog, and Takashi Iizuka, leader of Sonic Team, does not feel inclined to revisit these titles for modernization, but has expressed a desire to one day revisit the Sonic Adventure series with a potential third game. “I greatly appreciate all those who love the Sonic Adventure series,” said Iizuka, “but when considering what could be done to bring this game up to the standards and expectations of today’s audience, I believe it would require as much time and effort as a new game.” This suggests that if this series returns, it will likely be with Sonic Adventures 3 rather than remasters, although producing Sonic Frontiers 2, one of Sega’s greatest recent successes, is most probably the main focus.
