Electronic Arts has officially announced its return to basketball games, with a new title, College Basketball, currently in production. Between 1997 and 2009, EA released various College Basketball games, but since then, they haven’t launched a new game in the series until now, as confirmed by EA Sports itself on June 30, 2025. For now, the official name of the new game remains undisclosed, but it is likely to be EA Sports College Basketball 26, joining EA Sports College Football in the new era of EA Sports expanding its own sports-developed games. Given the success of EA Sports College Football 25, interest in the upcoming College Football 26, and the growing popularity of College Basketball in the United States, EA is seizing the opportunity to broaden its sports game catalog. EA Sports will leverage proven NIL partnerships and cutting-edge technology to recreate the college basketball experience fans have missed since 2009.
