With over 20 million games sold since its inception, the Little Nightmares license has become highly significant to Bandai Namco Entertainment, who didn’t hesitate to propose a 10-minute showcase to present the third episode, announced two years ago. This time, it’s developed by Supermassive Games (known for the Until Dawn series), plunging players into the Spiral, a world of distorted illusions where two lost children, Low and Alone, navigate through a moving mental architecture. The new trailer, titled “You’re in for a Ride,” reveals the setting of Carnavale, a rusty, creaking carnival, saturated with visual traps and grotesque figures, as if the Joker had redecorated an abandoned Disney park.
The gameplay confirms the series’ DNA: no dialogue, much ambiguity, a play of flight and instinct, and that captivating way of narrating oppression through the environment. We’re obviously in the same formula, but with additional features. The upcoming release of Little Nightmares 3 will be accompanied by a rich transmedia universe.
A second season of the “The Sounds of Nightmares” podcast is being written. A comic book series from Titan Comics, Little Nightmares: Descent to Nowhere, will release its first issue in October 2025. A young adult novel, Little Nightmares: The Lonely Ones, arrives in September 2025. Furthermore, a new VR game, Little Nightmares VR: Altered Echoes, is also in development.
A stop-motion project is also in development, adding another layer to this expansive universe. And finally, the game’s release date was announced: October 10, 2025 for PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X. You now know everything.
