Dragon Ball Z Sparking ZERO: Shallot from DB Legends Joins Roster, First Gameplay Video Released

On June 17, 2025, Bandai Namco Entertainment announced the second part of Dragon Ball Legends’ 7th-anniversary celebration and revealed an important update: the introduction of Shallot, the original hero of the mobile game, to Dragon Ball Sparking! ZERO. Shallot was created specifically for Dragon Ball Legends as a Saiyan from the past, with his design approved by Akira Toriyama himself. Until now, he has been exclusive to the mobile game but will be made available outside this universe through a DLC on June 27th. Season Pass holders can gain early access starting June 24th. According to the trailer shown during the live stream, Shallot will initially be playable only in his unique base form, unlike in Legends where he transforms into several iconic forms (Super Saiyan, Super Saiyan God, etc.). However, Bandai Namco may introduce additional downloadable content to expand his capabilities in the future.

DLC 1 – Hero of Justice (themed around Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero) became available starting January 24, 2025.
Dragon Ball DAIMA DLC 2 was released on April 24, 2025.
DLC 3 – also dedicated to DAIMA – does not yet have a release date.
Dragon Ball Sparking! ZERO DLC 4 featuring Shallot is scheduled for June 27, 2025. On June 17, 2025, Bandai Namco Entertainment announced that Shallot, the original hero of Dragon Ball Legends, will be available as a playable character in Dragon Ball Sparking! ZERO via DLC on June 27th. Shallot, a Saiyan with a design approved by Akira Toriyama, was previously exclusive to Dragon Ball Legends. He’ll initially be accessible in his base form in Sparking! ZERO, but Bandai Namco may add more transformations or abilities through future DLC. With this announcement, the Dragon Ball Sparking! ZERO Season Pass now includes four confirmed DLCs, bringing the total number of playable characters to over 20. The Season Pass holders will have early access starting June 24th. Other DLC releases include Hero of Justice (January 24, 2025) and Dragon Ball DAIMA DLC 2 (April 24, 2025), while the release date for DLC 3 (also DAIMA-themed) remains unspecified.
