Shinobi Art of Vengeance will continue its promotional campaign with the release of a story trailer on the 29th of next month. This trailer will provide insight into the narrative surrounding Joe Musashi, the main character. The video starts by revealing that Joe Musashi’s birthplace, the village of Oboro, has been destroyed and reduced to ashes, with its inhabitants turned to stone by an unknown curse. ENE Corp, an industrial entity led by Lord Ruse, a military strategist and primary antagonist, is responsible for this massacre. Lord Ruse possesses a legendary artifact that grants immortality.
Shinobi Art of Vengeance will not be limited to a single major character, as five other figures of ninjutsu will contribute to the narrative. These characters include Tomoe, his student; Naoko, his wife; Yamato, the canine companion with shape-shifting abilities; and Lord Ruse. Developed by Lizardcube, known for Streets of Rage 4, the title is distinguished by its entirely hand-drawn artistic direction, blending elements from European comics, classic Japanese cinema, and cyberpunk aesthetics. The gameplay aims to be fluid, challenging, and rewarding, in keeping with the tradition of 2D action games. Shinobi Art of Vengeance is scheduled for release on August 29, 2025, across PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch, and PC, priced at €30. A deluxe digital edition will provide early access starting three days prior to the official launch, an exclusive costume, a special amulet, in-game currency, a digital artbook, and the original soundtrack.
