Thirteen years after its initial release, Warhammer 40,000 Space Marine returns to the spotlight with a remastered edition titled ‘Master Crafted Edition’. Developed by SneakyBox in collaboration with Relic Entertainment and published by SEGA, this updated version will be available on June 10, 2025, for PC (Steam, Epic Games Store, Microsoft Store) and Xbox Series at a price of $39.99. Game Pass subscribers can also access it upon release. The Master Crafted Edition offers a graphical update with 4K resolution, enhanced textures, reworked character models, modernized user interface, updated control scheme, and remastered audio. The game will include all previously released downloadable content, such as Chaos Unleashed packs, Dreadnought Assault, Iron Hand Veteran Chapter, Death Guard Champion Chapter, along with bonus weapons and armor.
The return of the game is driven by the success of Space Marine 2. If this remaster had been released today, it would largely be due to the significant success of Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2, which was launched at the end of 2024. The game’s effective gameplay, powerful artistic direction, and strong word-of-mouth established it as one of the unexpected hits of the year-end, reigniting interest in the entire franchise. Given this substantial enthusiasm, it made sense for SEGA and Games Workshop to capitalize on this momentum. Consequently, the Master Crafted Edition becomes an ideal entry point for newcomers while offering longtime fans a chance to revisit the origins of the saga with modern enhancements.
