It was scheduled to arrive on May 20, 2025, but it will now be delayed by almost a month; I am referring to Dune Awakening, the highly anticipated survival MMO developed by Funcom. This three-week delay is based on feedback from closed beta testers, which was generally positive but highlighted certain issues that developers wish to address promptly. However, please note that players who preordered the Deluxe or Ultimate editions will receive early access starting June 5th. As for the story, Dune Awakening will transport players to an alternative version of Arrakis where Paul Atreides was never born. Players will take on the role of a Bene Gesserit agent tasked with investigating the disappearance of the Fremen. The game will emphasize survival in a hostile desert environment, featuring basic construction mechanics, resource gathering, object crafting, and both PvE and PvP combat.
This delay, although disappointing to some eager fans, aims to ensure an optimal gaming experience from launch. Funcom also plans a large-scale beta weekend in May, offering a larger number of players the opportunity to test the game and provide further feedback.
