At the recent Game Awards, Rematch was unveiled as the new game from Sloclap, the developers of Sifu, and it is indeed a football game. This announcement came as an unexpected surprise from the French studio known for their arcade-style and ultra-fun approach to gaming, positioning themselves as an alternative to other simulation-focused titles such as EA Sports FC and eFootball. Following initial silence about Rematch, the title has returned with a new trailer and notably, a release date. The game will be available on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series on June 19, 2025, at an affordable price of €24.99. To build trust with players, Sloclap is launching a beta version starting April 18 on www.playrematch.com/.
It will be possible to play 5v5 or 4v4 matches against players from around the world, allowing you to test this unique gameplay experience. The game features no fouls, no offsides, and no VAR; a notable feature is that you control only one player on the field in third-person view, which will provide a distinct perspective.
