Pokémon Legends Z-A: At Night, No Pokémon is Gray, Here are the Nighttime Battles

The Nintendo Direct on March 27, 2025, prominently featured Legendary Pokémon Z-A, which was announced the previous month. Visually, it remains crude and somewhat controversial, but the emphasis is not on graphical analysis; instead, the focus is on introducing nighttime battles, a new feature in this episode. When night falls, the city of Illumis transforms into a massive combat arena where trainers are invited to climb the ranks of the Z-A Royal Tournament. Designated zones then appear to highlight these real-time battles, another significant innovation in the game. The goal is to progress from rank Z to rank A, with top-tier trainers potentially receiving an ultimate reward: having their wish granted. While it remains simplistic and somewhat juvenile in its approach, the game clearly targets a specific demographic.

The release of Pokémon Legends Z-A is anticipated for the end of 2025 on Nintendo Switch.
