A month has already passed since the release of Monster Hunter Rise, which shattered sales records, and Capcom is not planning to sit idle. As expected, a Monster Hunter Showcase was scheduled for this late afternoon to provide some sort of roadmap on what’s coming in the next few months. It must be said that, as excellent as the game is, it needs content to sustain itself over time, especially to satisfy the veterans of the series who are always eager for new features. Rest assured, this first free update planned for April 4th will allow players to face off against the Leviathan Mizutsune in the forbidden lands. To do so, hunters will need to be Rank 21 to challenge it and unlock the Mizutsune hunt mission by speaking with Kanya in the Crimson Ridge forest. Hunters who have already surpassed the Rank 41 threshold can encounter Mizutsune alpha in the open world.
For level 50 hunters, it is possible to trigger an event quest that presents a more challenging challenge than the alpha monster hunt. As a reward, a Rey Dau Gamma armor set can be obtained. Additionally, players will also have the opportunity to hunt Zoh Shia, the final boss of the game, which can be encountered in the environment during the Wyvern Awakening at the Wyveria Ruins. This allows for the collection of Zoh Shia parts for high-level hunter and Palico equipment.
The other significant update is the introduction of the Grand-Camp, which, as its name implies, is considerably larger than previous camps. This new hub offers various activities such as the mini-game Bowling baril to recover bonus items and additional accessories. It also serves as a venue for celebration, joy, and revelry, allowing players to experience village Suja traditions like listening to Diva’s songs. Each season will bring a new festival, beginning with the Harmony Festival and Blooming Flowers Dance from April 23 to May 7, 2025. During these festivals, both the appearance of the Grand-Camp and the food available within it will change, providing hunters with limited-duration equipment, emotes, decorations for Temporary Camps, and other unique elements. Additionally, seasonal Event Quests will return along with most previous Event Quests. The supreme Rey Dau alpha will appear in an Event Quest during the latter part of the Harmony Festival from April 30 to May 21, 2025. Capcom has clarified that unlocking the Grand-Camp is achieved by speaking to Tetsuzan in Suja after reaching Hunter Rank 16.
Arena Quests, Challenge Quests, and Free Challenge Quests will be introduced starting with the title update. Challenge Quests and new Free Challenge Quests will appear as Time-Limited Event Quests from this update onwards. Arena Quests and Challenge Quests can be completed by a maximum of two players using predetermined equipment. Free Challenge Quests have no equipment restrictions and can be undertaken by hunting groups of up to four players. All these types of quests may be completed solo, cooperatively within the multiplayer online game, or with Support Hunters. Players will have the option to replay these quests for time improvement and to secure a spot in the rankings for special reward items. New Event Quests will continue to appear on the Expedition Records board, offering players opportunities to win special armor sets, rapidly increase their hunter rank, gather cooking ingredients, and more.
Classic emotes are returning as free DLC in Monster Hunter Rise, along with the Cosmetic DLC Pack 1. This pack is available both as a standalone item and included in the Premium Deluxe Edition and the Cosmetic DLC Pass. In addition to cosmetic options for hunters and Palicoes, Cosmetic DLC Pack 1 will also include new equipment options for temporary campsites in the Forbidden Lands. Another update is scheduled for late May, featuring a collaboration with another Capcom title, a feature allowing players to view captured native specimens, and several other adjustments. Stay tuned for more information on the second free update for Monster Hunter Rise this summer.
