The beginning of 2025 is particularly packed with RPGs. Following the intense experience of Kingdom Come Deliverance 2 from Warhorse Studios, RPG enthusiasts will find Avowed a more gentle offering, one that shares similarities with Skyrim in many aspects. However, the game developed by Obsidian Entertainment offers compelling features to attract players. Initially, there were questions about the frame rate when Matt Hansen, the artistic director, mentioned that “It’s a single-player first-person game, so you don’t necessarily need 60 frames per second.” This statement drew criticism from some players. Carrie Patel, the game’s director, later confirmed that Avowed will indeed be playable at 60fps on Xbox Series X consoles. However, owners of Xbox Series S consoles will not be able to enjoy this feature due to their console’s limitations. The game is set for release next week, and we have been playing it for nearly a week to provide you with a thorough review.
The release of Avowed is anticipated for February 18 on PC and Xbox Series, available at launch on Game Pass Ultimate.
