Today marks the release of Dynasty Warriors Origins on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series, a game that succeeds in reviving a series that had declined over the years. Producer Tomohiko Sho and his teams have managed to inject new life into it, making it a strong entry that preserves the series’ core elements while incorporating modern features to align with contemporary genre standards. Despite still being a massive beat ’em up like Musô, this installment borrows mechanics from popular Souls-like games. Consequently, players will need to employ strategic thinking and precise timing for counterattacks and parries to avoid being overwhelmed by numerically superior enemy forces. However, officers will undoubtedly present the greatest challenge. As for the plot, if you enjoy dramatic betrayals, there are plenty in store.
